Home Information Packs - HIPs

Since 2007 all residential properties marketed for sale require a Home Information Pack or HIP. The HIP is a set of documents giving information about that property. The purpose of the Home Information Pack is to help speed up the home selling process and give potential purchasers information regarding the property such as energy usage. The seller or the seller's agent must provide the HIP.

You cannot market your property without it, as it is a legal requirement.

Home Information Packs are valid as long as the property is continually marketed. However if the property is taken off the market for longer than 28 days you may need to purchase a new HIP. Elite HIPs will personally compile all the components of your Home Information Pack and one of our qualified energy consultants will undertake the Energy Performance Certificate EPC or Predicted Energy Assessment PEA.

The compulsory components of a HIP are as follows:
