The Code for Sustainable Homes - C4SH - Code Assessments

At Elite Energy we offer Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments (CRCS is part Of The Carbon Reduction Commitment Scheme) nationwide. Our experienced consultants will also be happy to offer advice on the best ways to gain your target score. The Code for Sustainable Homes has replaced the Eco-homes scheme as a benchmark for environmental sustainability in domestic property design and construction. The Code for Sustainable Homes assesses each unit in a development against the following design categories:

1. Energy and CO2 Emissions             2. Water             3. Materials
4. Surface water run-off             5. Waste              6. Pollution
7. Health & Well-being              8. Management              9. Ecology

Units are assessed at both design stage and post-construction stage. Apart from the above design categories, the Code for Sustainable Homes includes new areas of sustainability design. Since May 1st 2008, all new built homes in England require a Code Rating. The Code for Sustainable Homes has a scoring system of six levels. The levels are achieved by meeting a combination of mandatory and flexible standards.
